Job Description: 

 

This unique position performs a variety of laboratory and medical imaging procedures within the scope of their certification including but not limited to the assaying of biological fluids, taking of basic x-rays.

 

Laboratory:  

 

  • Draws venous and capillary blood samples.
  • Performs routine and automated testing of biological fluids in Haematology, Chemistry and Urinalysis.
  • Performs clerical functions associated with the processing of patient samples.
  • Prepares patient samples for transport to referral sites.

 

Radiology:

 

  • Takes films and processes satisfactory radiographs and completes clerical functions associated with radiological work.
  • Ensures that radiation safety for patients and staff is maintained by employing approved radiological safety techniques.
  • Performs preventive, scheduled maintenance on radiographic equipment.
  • Performs and orders inventory supplies for Radiology, Spirometry, EKG’s and Holter Monitoring.
  • Performs all EKG’s and Pulmonary Function testing (Spirometry) and Holter Monitoring.

Job Requirements: 

 

To be considered you require successful completion of a Combined Laboratory/X-ray Technologist program and registration with the Canadian College of CLXT.
